Types of Narrow Aisle Forklifts
Narrow aisle forklifts are also known as class 2 forklifts. They are classified into five lift codes that are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
Narrow aisle forklifts under Lift Code 1 are high lift straddle vehicles. Those under Lift Code 2 are order pickers and those under Lift Code 6 are low lift pallet lift trucks.
Lift Code 3 narrow aisle forklifts have reach type outriggers while those under Lift Code 4 sport a swing mast. The swing mast is a handy feature that allows pallets of goods to be stacked at a 90 degree angle from the direction where the forklift is facing. Side loaders and turret trucks are categorized as Lift Code 4 narrow aisle forklifts.
