Pressure washers are a supply which a lot of shops tend to overlook. You know you need shop equipment like work benches, tool carts, storage, furniture, creepers and other supplies but what about a pressure washer? If you have a lot of vehicles or machinery at your shop, not to mention want to keep the cement clean where applicable — pressure washers are the quickest way to keeping your shop clean and orderly.

As a result, you should not ignore the importance of having a good pressure washer setup. They cost a little more than you might want to spend upfront, yet once you have the proper tools they require little maintenance and should last for years. While big commercial pressure washer setups can be quite expensive there are smaller, portable units which serve the same purpose especially if you are willing to invest in a gas operated pressure washer.

Portable Pressure Washers

Portable pressure washers like the gas-powered MI-T-M Industrial Gas Cold Pressure Washer and MI-T-M Commercial Gas Cold Pressure Washer are portable with two wheels and can go on the road with you for remote jobs. Even if you don’t plan on using your pressure washer away from the shop, portable washers with wheels do not take up a lot of space and are easily movable. They are cheaper compared to Hotsy and other units which are built-into a wall and are rather large.

Unlike a Hotsy, however, you’ll need standard gasoline to operate these types of pressure washers. Unfortunately that’s a little more money spent down the road yet these machines are fairly decent on gas, not burning a huge hole through your pocket.

Spray Gun

You may be surprised to learn that there are actually numerous options for your spray gun. The standard spray gun features an adjustable trigger and nozzle tip for control over the pressure and handling. Some spray guns are designed for spraying oils, solvents, cleaners, insecticides and coatings while other guns handle more serious tasks.

Lazer Series pistol guns provide increased accuracy while heavy-duty, commercial tasks are carried out by guns like the GUARDAIR Force 5 spray gun. Spray guns are also sold at different lengths or with various extensions to access hard to reach places.

Application

The type of pressure washer and spray gun or spray guns you need for your shop all depends on the size of the operation and what you are looking to accomplish. If you deal with certain chemicals or solvents you may be required by law to keep your shop or warehouse to certain standards. And, even if you are not regulated by law, maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse will improve employee morale because people don’t want to work in dirty or disorganized areas. Keep that in mind when shopping for pressure washers and don’t be tight on money. The better setup the easier cleaning tasks will be for your shop and the quicker you can get to other tasks.
