Modular Acoustic Panels Help Reduce Noise in Welding Operations

A company in the UK has introduced new soundproof acoustical panels that can be customized to reduce noise in welding operations.

Weldability-Sif introduced the welding bays that are constructing using floor-mounted acoustical panels that are made out of steel covered in an epoxy coating that absorbs sound. The panels can be secured to welding work space floors with adjustable brackets so that they can accommodate uneven surfaces.

The panels can be custom-built in any configuration so they can be used in any sort of welding environment. They include a bronze impract-resistant viewing panel so that supervisors can see into the bays and also prevent people from entering the welding bays when potentially hazardous operations are in progress.

Access to welding bays is trough a standard welding strip curtaining. An optional sliding rail provides unobstructed entry and exit for use while carrying objects into and out of the welding area.

The acoustic panels also can be built with a services panel that provides a mounting point for air, power, gas an supply points. Another optional fume control system features a rail module that allows the mounting of  fume arm and bracket.
