Bahrns.com offers a wide variety of shelving and racks.

Rack Manufacturers Institute (a division of the Material Handling Industry of America) has published a 2012 edition of “Considerations for the Planning and Use of Industrial Steel Storage Racks.” The new update is intended to inform and educate readers about storage system design, best practices, safety issues, proper usage and avoiding personal injury and property damage.

Racks are single or sometimes multi-level structural storage systems allowing high stacking of items or palletized loads. Racking systems are an important part of all material handling, storage, and distribution operations. “The right racks allow rapid access to stored or mounted materials, as well as a dependable, ergonomic product storage solution,” states the Rack Manufacturers Institute website at https://www.mhia.org/rmi . “Racking systems maximize facility space while simplifying inventory requirements.”

Bahrns.com offers shelving and racks for a wide variety of uses. These include cantilever, stacking, drum, pallet, reel, cable and bar racking systems. Our customers’ options are virtually unlimited thanks to the many accessories available for all of the shelving and racks we carry.

Rack Manufacturers Institute is an industry trade association that was formed in 1958. Its mission is “to advance standards, quality, safety and general fitness for intended use of industrial steel storage rack systems and welded wire rack decking,” according to the RMI website.

“Considerations for the Planning and Use of Industrial Steel Storage Racks – 2012 Edition” was released last month and is available for download via https://www.mhia.org/ .
