Certain Safety Glasses serve certain purposes.

Eye strain is another form of injury that relates to the workplace. The strain caused by glare can be extremely damaging to one’s sight. For instance individuals who work in or around constant glare like Conservation Police, Water Authorities, marinas, transport, people in the auto industry, etc., deal with the strain of glare from the water or other reflective surfaces everyday.

Polarized sunglasses and polarized goggles reduce the damaging glare. Polarized safety glasses allows those to see things clearly while protecting eyes from the sun’s rays. Polarization lenses eliminate the light waves that create glare. When light hits a surface the reflection vibrates in any particular direction, most commonly horizontally. This reflected light or glare significantly reduces vision and depth perception. It will also distort color and cause temporary blindness and squinting with unnecessary strain to the eyes. Polarized lenses absorb light waves traveling in any direction other than the vertical plane reduces or eliminates glare.
