W. to be Key Speaker at Materials Handling Conference

Former President George W. Bush will be the featured speaker at the 2014 Material Handling and Logistics Conference to be held later this summer in Park City, Utah.

Bush will participate in a conversation with John K. Baysore, president and CEO of Dematic North America, as part of the conference, which is scheduled for September 7 through 10 at the Grand  Summit Resort. He will be discussion his thoughts on his eight years in the Oval Office, the challenges facing our nation in the 21st Century, the power of freedom, the role of faith, and other pressing issues, according to a conference news website.

The theme of this year’s conference will be “Hyperperformance”.

“The supply chain that you operate in is accelerating at a pace never before realized in terms of customer expectations, information flow and material movement,” organizers wrote on the website. “Speed is good, but the ability to outperform the field comes from acceleration. Thus, the them of our 29th Material Handlingand Logistics conference is Hyperformance: Increasing your speed and precision to meet tomorrow’s demands.”

Other featured speakers will include former boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard; John Foley, former lead solo pilot with the US Navy’s Blue Angels flying team; Mike Cassidy, a director at Google; and Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics.

Conference attendees also will be entertained by a concert by the rock band Cheap Trick.
