The new corporation Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society will sponsor UBM Canon’s inaugural Powder & Bulk Solids Texas tradeshow that will be held at the Reliant Center in Houston. The Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society sponsored event will be held October 15-16, 2013, and covers a range of product and service specific to the manufacturing of food, petro-chemicals, plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fabricated metals, paints, and much more. There are 406 chemical and 300 food manufacturing plants in the Houston district alone. Houston is also home to 30% of the state’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. The city has a population of over 5 million people, and produces 30% of Texas’ total output, which is second only to New York as the largest export region.
