Choosing the Right Self Dumping Hopper – Part 1

The self dumping hopper is one of the most cost-effective and useful pieces of equipment any workplace can have. It is the ideal solution for many materials handling operations and is especially useful for waste disposal. Compact, yet with a large holding capacity, the self dumping hopper pays for itself quickly by eliminating a number of time consuming manual tasks.

When choosing a hopper for the workplace, it is important to choose the right one for your needs. Things to consider are the constraints of space in the workplace, weight capacity required, the types of materials that are going to be dumped and how the hopper is going to be handled. Some of the most common of the many types of self dumping hoppers available are as follows:

RUBBERMAID Self-Dumping Hoppers
RUBBERMAID Self-Dumping Hoppers are light weight and can be rolled or fork lifted.

Polyethylene

Strong, seamless and light in weight, polyethylene hoppers can carry loads of between 750 and 1000 lbs. With the proper attachments, they can be made forkliftable for elevated dumping or rolled on casters. While they only weigh between 190 and 360 lbs, they still have large internal capacities of between 1 to 2 1/2 cubic yards. They also are designed to tilt a full 30 degrees beyond horizontal to facilitate complete dumping.
