Oregon Company Offers Free Forklift Safety Training

Forklift safety is an important part of creating a safe and efficient workplace. But providing training for all of your employees can often be a costly proposition.

Unless you happen to be in Oregon this week, that is.

Overton Safety Training —  Aloha, Oregon, based company that provides training in the safe operation of forklifts and other heavy machinery — will be offering free forklift training, testing and certification this week at the Willamette Valley Ag Expo.

The free classroom safety training course, written exams and practical operational evaluations will be held from 10:15 a.m.until 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, at the expo, which is being held at the Linn County Fair and Expo Center, in Albany, Oregon.

Ron Overton, the company’s owner, said the purpose of the free training is to improve workplace safety.

“In addition to training, employers can qualify one or more of their employees to conduct in-house forklift training via a ‘Train the Trainer’ course,” Overton told the Capital Express. “Our forklift training courses offer the opportunity for them to become a qualified forklift operator in just one day.”

Overton also will have a booth at the expo to meet customers and assist them with their company safety training and regulatory compliance needs.
